QSCC Votes 2026 Is Here

9/9/2026

The 2026 elections are coming, and the Queer Student Cultural Center is launching QSCC Votes 2026, a nonpartisan civic engagement and voter education campaign.

Throughout the election season, we'll be helping our community understand elections, government, voting, and the issues that can affect queer, trans, and allied communities.

Why Are We Doing This?
Elections determine who holds public office at multiple levels of government. Those officials can make decisions that affect our communities, including decisions related to healthcare, nondiscrimination protections, education, housing, public safety, immigration, mental health services, and community programs. But elections can also be confusing. There are different levels of government, different elected offices, different responsibilities, different voting options, and a lot of information to sort through. That's where QSCC Votes comes in.

What We'll Cover
Throughout the campaign, we'll share resources about:
  • What the midterm elections are
  • What different elected offices do
  • What's on your ballot
  • How to research candidates
  • Issues affecting queer and trans communities
  • Voter registration
  • Early voting
  • Absentee voting
  • Election Day voting
  • Reliable election resources
We'll also direct you toward official government information and publicly available candidate materials.

We're Not Here to Tell You Who to Vote For
The QSCC is committed to keeping this campaign nonpartisan.
We won't endorse candidates.
We won't tell you who to vote for.
We won't rank candidates or give them grades.
We won't tell you which political party to support.
Instead, we'll give you information and resources so that **you can make your own decision.**

Your Vote Is Yours
Being an informed voter doesn't mean knowing everything about politics. It can start with something as simple as asking:
  • What's on my ballot?
  • What does this office do?
  • Who is running?
  • What issues matter to me?
  • Where can I find reliable information?
We'll help you answer those questions throughout the election season.

Our community deserves to be informed. Our voices deserve to be heard.
